  Celebrated by daughter's 9th birthday with the crazy huge Unicorn and Rainbows milkshake.  Everything about it was awesome!  There were 5 of us eating this giant child's dream of beautiful sugar overload. It was  cotton candy, whip cream, sour strips, Twinkie, cupcake, Rice Krispies treat, ice cream cone, and nerds in icing on the cup rim.  And most importantly, they have a water station to wash down all that sweetness.
  
  We stopped in on a Saturday around 2:30 and there were a few people in this tiny shop but we were able to get one of the four tables for our group.   My son has already started planning for his next birthday, he's deciding between the peanut butter overload or the cookie monster milkshakes.

  I was actually in town to try the restaurant next door, but they were closed. So, instead of just calling the trip a wash and going home, I just looked around and saw this place on the corner with a sign that says "Coffee and Ice Cream." Because I like both those things, might as well give it a try. Little did I know, I stumbled into the middle of a shop that recently went viral for their over the top milkshake mountains.
  
  So I walk in. This place is small. Tiny! It has 12 seats total and a few baristas working. For the most part, there's maybe 6 other patrons. It's a Monday afternoon, so no one is really around. I see people finishing up what I think is just a milkshake with a pretty candy rim.
  
  So my oblivious self, asks the barista, who was very nice, to give me whatever the couple behind me is having. And then I ask if I could get it to go. She looks at me and says, "I mean we could make it to go.... but that's kind of impossible." Cut to me, who is still oblivious "Oh... ok. I can stay, I have nowhere to go." So I sit down and she comes out with a wax paper placemat, a spoon, and straw. About 5 minutes later, out it comes. It's like someone reached into Candy Land and pulled out this shake. I sit. Staring at the majesty of what this barista put in front of me. And the only words I can make come out of my mouth were "Oh my god."
  
  So, apparently, what I ordered was called the "Unicorns and Rainbows" milkshake. And let me tell you, it was all of those things. I proceeded to snap pictures at multiple angles and text all my friends. Until a kindly old man, who had ordered his coffee to go, walked past, got down on one knee and said "So are you gonna eat it or are you just gonna look at it?" He smiled, I smiled. Time to get to work.
  
  Now Candy is candy. Candy is good. Let's move on. Of course it's pretty! Look at it! It's freaking magical looking! But how's it taste? Like a milkshake. A high quality milkshake. Very creamy, and thick, and sweet with a hint of cotton candy.
  
  While I was climbing Mt. Diabeetus, a sweet little girl came in with her mom. The mom walked up, and ordered her a similar milkshake and told the crew it was her birthday. Not only did they make this sweet baby angel her milkshake, but they cut the house music to play happy birthday, and the whole crew sang as they brought out her birthday treat. It was so sweet, it brought a tear to my eye. Or maybe that was the cavities forming in my mouth. Either way, that was pretty freaking special.
  
  Sometimes, if you let it, life will give you happy little moments. You just have to be open and ready to take in the experience for what it is and let yourself experience joy.

  On Memorial Day my 3 year old and I stopped by after a long bike ride to grab a quick scoop. I've gotten coffee from here in the past and had a great experience.
  
  We walked in and there were 2 couples waiting at the tables and we walked right up to counter. The girl working was cooking something in a big pan and said she would be right with us. No problem. She was working by herself so waiting was expected and no big deal. After she finished cooking that order she brought it out to the people waiting. Then she moved on to making 2 very labor intensive enormous milkshakes. Behind us the line was building up. This girl was busting her ass, making these milkshakes, answering the phone, sweating, trying to clean up as she went. Basically what I'm saying is there needed to be at least 2 other people working with her. I hope she gets paid very very will because she deserves it.
  
  Her employers expected her to make hot food to order, make huge, candy stacked milkshakes, make coffee drinks, make sundaes, and keep it clean and orderly behind the counter on a busy day like Memorial Day where most have off. Not cool.
  
  Also they don't have plain chocolate ice cream.

  Addicted is such a great spot!  The coffee is some of the best that I've ever had, and the shop itself is a fun, charismatic atmosphere.  It's trendy, hip, and a local restaurant!  Support the local businesses: skip your Starbucks and come here for a comparable price!  The brews are always fresh, and there is complimentary ice cold water and a cold brew coffee on tap!
  Hit up Addicted for a nice cup of coffee any day!

  The people working here were the best. However, they happened to mess up both of the items I ordered. That was the most disappointing. They were too focused on talking to us. Ice cream was good.
